The Certification program provides instructions and trainings on CNA work responsibilities, Basic Nursing Skills, Organizational and Management Skill, Personal Care skills, Basic Life Support Skills, Emergency Care procedures, Safety and Infection control, Communication and Interpersonal Skills and other skills.
Once, the students successfully completes CNA Certification program, they are allowed to sit for Nurse Aide certification test. In Alaska Pearson VUE has been contracted by Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing to develop, administer, assess, and inform the results of the NNAAP Examination.
NNAAP test features, 2 components and they include:
- Written Test
- Skill Performance Test
Written Test – comprises of 70 multi choice questions, where 60 questions are scoring and 10 are non-scoring. The time offered for the test is 2 hours. Test questions are based on subjects learned during the classroom training.
Skill Test – features 5 randomly selected skills out of 25 skills trained during the clinical training. The time offered is 25 minutes and test is performed on a client.
The passing scores of both test is 75% & above and if you clear the test, you are awarded CNA Certification Alaska and registration with state Nurse Aide Registry.
Your CNA Certification Alaska is valid for only 2 years and to get it renewed, you must get it renewed before expiry date and must submit a proof of your working for 160 hours within that period of time.
