Center for Entrepreneurship & Economic Education - Teach Children to Save Day

April 26-30, 2010

Teach Children to Save Day focuses on teaching children to identify goals and to save to reach those goals.  Bankers come into the classroom and share lessons about saving. 

This program is for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classrooms only.  The lessons are not appropriate for students in other grades.  Teachers who have participated in the past have voiced resounding approval of the program.

Teach Children to Save Day is a national event developed by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation.  The UM-St. Louis Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Education is pleased to offer the program in the St. Louis area with the cooperation of some local banks and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

• Register between October 31, 2009 and January 15, 2010.  
• Maximum class size is 25.  Combined classrooms are allowed only if they include no more than a total of 25 students of the same grade level.
• Teachers must remain in the classroom and assist bankers as needed.
• The banker provides handouts and materials needed for the lessons.
• When registering, please be certain to report the number of students in your classroom accurately.  If the number changes, please revisit the Web site to make the correction.
