Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2010 Neighborhood Leadership Academy.  Please know that it costs approximately $1,000 per participant to run the Neighborhood Leadership Academy.  We are pleased to have financial support from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and University Extension that allows us to lower the registration fee and provide scholarships when needed.

In an effort to fairly distribute scholarships we ask that you complete the attached Scholarship Request Form.  A limited number of partial scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We do not award full scholarships.  Scholarships granted are $200 off the registration fee of $400.  

We encourage scholarship applicants to first seek out local funding sources wherever possible.  Past participants have received financial support through their neighborhood association, alderman or city council, agency that they work for, and through government or non-profit agencies that have worked with their neighborhood.

Scholarships will be awarded based upon the following priorities:

1. Neighborhood volunteers who demonstrate individual financial need;
2. Paid staff at community-based organizations, with relatively small organizational budgets, that demonstrate financial need.
