The College of Nursing offers credit and noncredit courses and programs for Degree Completion, Professional Development and Personal Enrichment through the Division of Continuing Education.
Conferences & Events- African American Nursing History Conference | This conference is targeted for the community, especially nurses and other professionals in the health care field who are interested in the unique contributions that African-American nurses made in addressing health care disparities, health equity and health promotion through organizational community involvement.
- ELNEC Train-the-Trainer Courses | Launched in February 2000, the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) provides nurse educators with essential training in end-of-life/ palliative care and provides participants with the knowledge and resources to share this with other nursing colleagues. The ELNEC-Core Curriculum training program was originally funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to improve end-of-life care for patients through the preparation of nurse educators in clinical and academic environments. Over the past eight years, additional funding has been provided by the National Cancer Institute, Open Society Institute, Aetna, Archstone, Department of Veterans Affairs, Oncology Nursing, and California HealthCare Foundation. ELNEC is administered through a partnership between the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), in Washington, DC and the City of Hope, in Duarte, CA.
- NCLEX-RN® Review | One requirement for licensure as a registered nurse is passing the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Taught by UMSL College of Nursing faculty, this workshop provides detailed content reviews as well as test-taking strategies specific to the NCLEX-RN® exam. This workshop includes practice tests, readings, quizzes, and access to the lectures on Web-based video-on-demand for three months.
