This course provides an enhanced study and deeper understanding of sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) including human immune acquired disease (HIV/AIDS) as related to the nursing role and responsibility of such diseases. Sign, symptons and clinical presentation of these diseases. Sign, symptoms and clinical presentation of these diseases will be discussed. The course includes; nursing implications, communication skills, prevention strategies, ethics in STI care, vaccine update, and more. We will examine five major nursing concepts: professionalism; health promotion; education; prevention; and community as it relates to cultural diversity. This course includes classroom discussion, case studies, panel discussion, and independent projects.
